Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Cooking Time: 10 minutes

Serving: 4 servings

Ingredients:

1 pound (450g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced

1/4 cup soy sauce

Two tablespoons gochujang (Korean red pepper paste)

Two tablespoons brown sugar

Three cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon sesame oil

One tablespoon rice vinegar

One tablespoon grated ginger

Two green onions, chopped

One carrot, julienned

One tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Two tablespoons vegetable oil (for grilling)

Directions:

In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, gochujang, brown sugar, minced garlic, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and grated ginger.

Mix well to create the marinade. Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade and toss until all the beef slices are evenly coated. Cover the bowl and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or overnight for more flavour.

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Meanwhile, heat a small amount of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the julienned carrots and chopped green onions for 2-3 minutes until slightly tender. Set them aside for later use.

Once the grill is hot, place the marinated beef slices on the grill. Cook each side for about 2-3 minutes or until the beef is cooked through and has a nice char.

Remove the grilled beef from the grill and transfer it to a serving plate. Top the grilled beef with the sautéed carrots and green onions. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the dish for garnish.

Serve the Spicy Grilled Korean Beef Bulgogi with steamed rice and your favourite side dishes.
